Songwriting apps make you fight the app. This one gets out of the way — one page for the words, a colour for whoever wrote them — and then tells you the key, the tempo and the chords of the take you just played.

Nobody picked up a guitar hoping to learn software. CoLabRoom is built so the song is the only thing you have to think about — and so that when you finish a take, you know more about it than when you started.
Make a Room, make a song, start typing. No templates, no fields, no configuration.
It saves as you write, and names your recordings after what you sang in them.
One take gives you the key, the tempo, the chords and the shape of the song.
Analyze, Record and Live are the verbs you opened the song for. All three sit on the screen, not three taps into an overflow menu.

Other apps make you file the song before you can write it: a box for the title, a box per line, a button to add a section. CoLabRoom gives you one flowing page. Type, paste, delete a verse, move on.
A coloured dot beside every line shows who wrote it — attribution without a comment thread.
Hum the melody where the words are. Tap the dot, sing the part, and it lives on that line.
No save button. Edits reach the room as they happen, and the page says so plainly if one doesn't.

[ Chorus ] — Analysis
Record a take, or upload a demo you already have. You get back the things you would otherwise work out by ear at two in the morning.
Analyzing chords & structure
Every chord is a suggestion, not a verdict. Tap one that is wrong and fix it — your correction is what sticks, and the original stays in history.
[ Verse ] — The Studio
That is the reason every musician has eighty voice memos called Recording 8/23 11:40 and revisits none of them. A take you can't identify without playing it is a take you never play.
So the Studio names an idea after the first thing you actually sing in it, and only ever replaces a placeholder — never a title you typed yourself.
Then it makes them searchable by their words. Half a remembered line is enough to find the recording, and the result tells you which line matched.

Both of these were named by the app. Neither was typed.
Drop a memo in with no project, no title and no commitment. If it turns out to be something, it becomes a real song project in one tap — recording and analysis already attached.
[ Bridge ] — Song Sheet
Above the words, at the syllable they land on. Move one, add one, delete one. Rotate the phone for a two-column sheet you can read from a music stand, then print it or send the band a PDF.
[ Chorus ] — Live
Live mode scrolls the song so your hands stay on the instrument. With an analysed recording it follows the real per-line timing — waiting through the intro, holding through the instrumental — instead of creeping down the page at a constant speed.
No recording yet? Slow, medium, fast, or spread across the song's length. It works before the song is finished.
A count-in before it moves, and one tap to put it back where you are when the band takes the long way round.
[ Verse ] — Import
Your back catalogue is in a notes app, three PDFs and a spreadsheet. CoLabRoom reads PDF, Word, RTF, Excel, CSV, OpenDocument, Markdown, plain text, a public Google Sheet link, or anything you paste — and shows you the lyric lines, section labels and chords it found before a single one lands.
[ Verse ] — The band
A Room holds a band's songs and stays visible only to its members. Each song keeps its own stream of what changed and who said what, so nobody scrolls a group chat to find out what happened to the bridge.
Build a set from songs across Rooms, reorder it, and print or share the whole thing at once.
Open chord shapes, capo chart and scale formulas for guitar; tuning, scale formulas and root-note patterns for bass. Offline.
[ Outro ] — The beta
CoLabRoom is in testing on Android now, with iOS next — one codebase targets both. The automatic chord and lyric analysis is a draft assistant, not an oracle: manual chord correction and Tap Sync are the finishing tools, and they are meant to be used.
There is a feedback option inside every song. It goes straight to the person building this, with the screen you were on and the version you are running attached.
Rooms are private to their members. Voice notes and reference recordings are stored with the Room they belong to. Imported documents are read on your own device.
To delete your account:
This is immediate and permanent. It removes your account and the songs, lyric lines, edits, comments, uploaded files, recordings and invitations attached to it. There is no undo and no recovery window.
